Algae in the water
Poor light conditions, over-fertilisation or even a surplus of nutrients can have negative effects on the aquarium water and may promote the growth of algae. Floating algae lead to green, bacteria to white clouding.

The JBL water clarifier eliminates cloudiness caused by bacteria and floating algae. The aquarium water passes through the sturdy, UV-resistant casing of the clarifier. The reflection of the UV radiation kills off bacteria, other germs and floating algae as the water passes through. This can also help to eliminate persistent algae, such as thread algae, since their spores are also largely killed off.

AQUAEL VERSAMAX 3
VERSAMAX is an external hang-on filter designed for the filtration and aeration of water in regular-sized and nano-aquariums. Thanks to its high throughput capacity, the filter guarantees intensive filtration of aquarium water, while requiring very little space. The filter is very quiet and easy to use. VERSAMAX filters can be used in water tanks with the capacity of 50 to 300 liters.
Components of the standard package
Each package includes a filter lid, a flow-through unit, and a container for filter media with a sponge cartridge. The VERSAMAX filter is completely watertight, because the entire container is made of one piece.
Mode of functioning
Hang the filter on an aquarium wall so that the suction tube is inside the tank, whereas the body of the pump – on the outside. At the start-up, fill the filter container with water and then plug the connection cable into the mains. Shortly after the activation, a properly assembled filter will suck the air out of the suction system and start pumping water from the aquarium. The pumping capacity can be adjusted within a wide range by means of a dial located on the top of the flow-through unit.
The pump draws water from the lower part of the water tank, next the water flows through the filter cartridges, and finally it is released back into the aquarium. The filtration baskets are designed to facilitate cartridge replacement.
Filter throughput can be adjusted using the dial located on the top of the flow-through unit. The angle of inclination of the filter is also adjustable.
Filter media
The standard set of cartridges for the VERSAMAX filter includes a sponge cartridge made of special phenol-free sponge. It constitutes a particularly favourable substrate for the growth of bacterial cultures employed to remove organic impurities from the water. In this way, effective mechanical filtration is supplemented with excellent biological filtration.
Filter cartridges can be freely combined or replaced with other filter media for biological or chemical filtration. For example, you can combine cartridges for biological filtration with a sponge for mechanical filtration. Make sure that individual media are arranged in equal layers in both parts of the filter baskets.

sera filter wool for the mechanical prefiltration consists of stable fibers that retain finer dirt particles for a longer time without sticking or collapsing. sera filter wool can be washed out several times. Suitable for all filters.

sera filter media must be rinsed under warm water before using it for the first time.

Maximum optimization of biological filtration
The original sera siporax Professional is suitable for use in both freshwater and marine aquariums as well as in ponds. Not depending on the kind of filter (internal/external/trickle filter), it maximizes the surface required for biological purification and provides the optimal substrate for the settling of necessary filter bacteria. The sera filter biostart included with the kit contains purification bacteria which activate sera siporax Professional biologically immediately upon addition and start pollutant breakdown in the water.

Advantages
Seachem Zeolite is a naturally occurring, highly-porous mineral that binds ammonia and heavy metals through an ion exchange mechanism. Seachem Zeolite has the highest ammonia binding capacity of any available zeolite; ten times higher than some products and twice the capacity of the closest competitor. Seachem Zeolite won't deplete calcium in saltwater, and it won't increase general hardness in freshwater, where the ionic strength is low.Directions
For best results, Seachem Zeolite should be rinsed before use and placed so as to maximise the flow of water through it but not so that it tumbles against itself in flow. It may be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter. Use of a filter bag such as Seachem's The Bag or Zip Bag is recommended. Use 250 mL (1 cup) of Seachem Zeolite for every 200 L (50 US gallons). For smaller aquariums, the equivalent dose is 5 mL (1 level teaspoon) per 4 L (1 US gallon). This amount of Seachem Zeolite will remove up to 0.5 mg/L ammonia. Monitor ammonia levels, which should drop to zero within 24-48 hours. At this point, the zeolite can be removed or replaced with activated carbon, such as Seachem MatrixCarbon. For heavy metals removal, leave in service and replace monthly. For long term ammonia control, use Seachem Stability and Matrix. Use Ammonia Alert or MultiTest Free & Total Ammonia to directly monitor levels of free ammonia.
